My favourites...

Restaurant:

I'm a big seafood fan, so naturally, my favourite restaurant in Toronto has lots of it. It's called N'awlins on King West. With fine jazz music and sizzling cajun/creole food, you'll feel like you're actually in New Orleans while dining there. I love their baked Oysters Rockefeller appetizer - it has spinach, smoked bacon and a selection of mixed cheese. Their cajun alligator bites and crab cakes are also delicious! The Seafood Medley is the best main course - with cajun shrimp, calamari, lobster tail, blackened scallops and jambalaya rice (oh, and I forgot to include the vegetables, but let's be realistic, who's thinking about vegetables?!).

TV Show:

Anthony Bordain: Parts Unknown is by far my favourite travel foodie show. Within each segment, the audience gets a behind-the-scenes look into various places all over the world. All different cuisines are featured-- from Spanish tapas to Vietnamese Veggie Pho soup to Indian dosas (thin, golden crepes often stuffed with savoury fillings). The owners reveal their personal stories on how (and why) they chose to open up their restaurants, and the chefs take the audience step by step through their signature dishes. The best part is - the hosts get to sample, and sometimes even dine with, the chefs. Ahh, this would be the highlight to each and every one of my days!
