Summerlicious reviews

Restaurant: Bodega

Smoked Whitefish Mousse
It came with three pieces of toasted bread, lettuce and cherry tomatoes (both yellow and red). The fish was so creamy and flavourful; every bite was pleasant. The hidden eggplant underneath, grilled, gave the fish a nice smoky flavour.

Salmon Nicoise
Nicoise is a term to describe a style of cooking from Nice, France. Here, the salmon is accompanied with french beans, potatoes, boiled egg, olives and caper tarragon dressing. The salmon was a bit overdone.

Cherry cobbler
This cherry cobbler was made with tart cherries and a pie-like crust. Served with creme Anglaise (English cream) on the side for pouring over. Good, but way too small.
Restaurant: MIDI

Paté de Champagne Maiso
This appetizer was very elegant. The country style pate (a whipped meat, in spread form) was served with bread and a side salad. Gherkins (little pickles), too.

Poisson du jour
The fish of the day in this case was a marlin, thick like tuna but lighter in flavour. Its mango sauce was out of this world (on the delicious scale) - served with carrots, beans, tomatoes and lemon.

Profiterolles
This pair of choux puff pastries were such a nice treat after the fish. In the middle, you’d find vanilla ice cream and on top, a nice hot chocolate sauce.
